James Tracy creates fine contemporary art using techniques made popular in Venice, Italy during the Renaissance Period. His earthy colour palette is inspired by global adventures and by local and coastal Vancouver, British Columbia. Self taught; James began painting at an early age with personal influences from local artist, William Allistair and Columbian born artist Orlando Agudelo Botero. It wasn’t until his second trip to Venice that Venetian Plaster caught his eye and the beginning of a long fascination with this medium. Blending an ‘Old World’ application with modern innovative techniques, James steps beyond traditions. Inspired by ever changing landscapes - his works are imbued with a vision of a world which captures depth and dimension. James artistic expression is that of a sensitive soul who inspires us into silence so we may grasp a glimpse of both his and our own inner worlds. His art offers a sence of peace and transcendence. He produces commissioned works in his Vancouver studio for interior designers and home owners.
