Self taught; James began painting at an early age with personal influences from local artist, William Allistair.

In 2010 James returned to Venice where his fascination and appreciation for venetian plaster began. Blending an 'Old World' application with modern innovative techniques, James steps beyond traditions.

Inspired by ever changing landscapes - his works are imbued with a vision of a world which captures depth and dimension. James artistic expression is that of a sensitive soul who inspires us into the silence so we may grasp a glimpse of both his and our own worlds. His art offers a sense of peace and transcendance. He produces commissioned works for interior designers and home owners in his Vancouver studio.
